Tap to Pay

Contactless payment made by bringing a card or phone close to a terminal, using the same NFC proximity technology that reads tags.

Tap to Pay works by bringing a credit card or phone close to a payment terminal, using NFC - the same proximity technology that reads tags. The transaction approves without inserting a card and often without a PIN, up to a certain amount limit.

In the context of a digital menu, contactless or in-phone payment completes the self-ordering loop: the diner orders and pays without waiting for the bill.
